Loans for Canadian Residents in Select Provinces

Volo Loans is now available to finance eligible Canadian residents in select provinces. See where we lend in Canada, who may qualify, and how to start an application. If you still have questions, you will find detailed answers in the Canadian Lending Eligibility FAQs further down the page.

Where we lend in Canada

Volo Loans currently offers financing to residents of the following Canadian provinces:

  • British Columbia
  • Alberta
  • Saskatchewan
  • Manitoba
  • Ontario

To be considered for a loan, you must legally reside in one of these provinces and meet our income, credit, and underwriting requirements.

At this time, we do not offer loans in other Canadian provinces or territories. If our Canadian service area changes, we will update this page.

Who may be eligible for a loan in Canada

Living in one of the eligible provinces is an important first step, but it is not the only factor we review. Every application is evaluated on its own merits.

In general, Canadian applicants should expect to:

  • Be a legal resident of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or Ontario
  • Be at or above the age of majority in their province
  • Hold valid government issued identification
  • Have a reliable income source and an ability to repay the loan
  • Meet our credit, documentation, and underwriting requirements

You do not need to be a Canadian citizen to apply. We focus on where you live and your overall financial profile. Approval is never guaranteed. All loans are subject to credit approval, any required property or collateral review, and applicable federal and provincial regulations.

How our loans work for Canadian residents

Our lending approach for Canadian residents is built around clarity, responsible practices, and education. A few key points:

  • Loan options and programs: Available loan programs, minimum and maximum loan amounts, and documentation requirements may vary by province and may differ from what we offer in the United States.
  • Rates, fees, and terms: Rates, fees, and repayment timelines are set based on current market conditions, regulatory guidelines, and your individual profile. You will see the options available to you during the application process.
  • Individual review: We review each application individually rather than using a single rule for every borrower. Your approval and terms will depend on your credit history, income, debts, and other factors in our underwriting review.

We’re here to answer questions so you can understand your options before you decide to move forward. If you would like to talk things through before you apply, you can share a few details using our online form and a member of our team will follow up with you.

  • British Columbia
  • Alberta
  • Saskatchewan
  • Manitoba
  • Ontario

If you live in another province or territory, our loans are currently not available to you at this time.

Which Canadian provinces are eligible for Volo Loans?

Right now, Volo Loans offers financing only to residents of these five Canadian provinces:

  • British Columbia
  • Alberta
  • Saskatchewan
  • Manitoba
  • Ontario

To qualify, you need to legally reside in one of these provinces and meet our income, credit, and underwriting requirements.

Do I need to be a Canadian citizen or only a resident to qualify?

Eligibility is based on where you live, not only your citizenship.

To apply for a loan through Volo Loans as a Canadian resident, you must:

  • Be a legal resident of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or Ontario, and
  • Meet our credit, income, and documentation requirements.

Citizenship alone does not guarantee approval.

Can any Canadian resident in an eligible province obtain financing through Volo Loans?

No. Living in an eligible province is the first step, but it does not mean automatic approval. We review each application individually. To qualify for a loan, you will need to:

  • Meet minimum credit requirements
  • Show sufficient income and assets to support the loan
  • Provide requested documentation for identity, residency, and financial information
  • Meet our underwriting and risk criteria at the time you apply

If your application does not meet our lending standards, we may be unable to approve your loan, even if you live in one of the eligible provinces.

Are loan products in Canada the same as those offered in the United States?

Our overall approach to lending is consistent across markets, but loan products, terms, and requirements may differ between Canada and the United States.

Factors that may vary include:

  • Available loan programs
  • Minimum and maximum loan amounts
  • Required documentation
  • Rates, fees, and closing timelines

When you start an application as a Canadian resident, we will show you the options currently available to borrowers in your province.

When will Volo Loans expand to other Canadian provinces or territories?

We are starting with British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario while we complete licensing, regulatory, and operational reviews in other parts of Canada.

We plan to evaluate additional provinces and territories over time, but we do not have confirmed dates for expansion outside these five provinces.

For the latest updates, we recommend:

  • Checking this Canadian Residents page periodically
  • Joining our email list, or
